if you do get capped, everything slows down. First thing you will notice is that youtube video buffer is really really slow. Second is everything is slow, you can feel the difference.
if you get logged of from xfire, it must be the internet sometimes acting up.
but other than that when you get capped, you can feel the difference.
ok this might add up to your understanding.
Non-capped: imagine a water flow in a big pipe, how much water can flow. The more water will flow if you have a widen pipe. Hence you will get more internet.
Capped: imagine water flowing in a smal pipe, there will be less water. But still there will be flow. Hence you will get less bandwidth.
